Sorry for the delay Barrelboy, I've been out of action with spewitis for the last coupe of days.

Wifey went down Thursday morning and got a "what package?" from them, but I was unable to pass on the info.

Then yesterday about midday it turned up safe and sound. :D

P.S. I'll take good care of the prized pickaxe bottle.

Mate! I sent you a Wetpak American Pale Ale yesterday.
Hope you enjoy it.

Wetpaks are great, but I prefer the Classic Oak and the Porter myself.
But most normal people like the American PA.

I'm right at the end of my first AG now, have to run.

Caused by having school aged kids. Still looking forward to the lambic.

Two unlabelled stubbies on the way, emnpaul.

One, a Pale Ale with Cascade and Nelson Savin
Two, a Nut Brown Ale with EKG.

Hope you enjoy them

Mine too will be in the post shortly. Life has been pretty hectic since welcoming our baby daughter in the world. Sadly beer related activities have taken a back seat the last few weeks.

Congratulation Marty. The meaning of the word "busy" has just ticked up a notch, not that you'll reget it. It goes up and up too. Just wait till they start school, sport, music lessons etc.

Sonny, your contribution has arrived.

Yours too Saaz Gorilla. Tragically however, one of the bottles didn't make it. O.K. I guess that's more of a minor disappointment really. The real tragedy is that it would seem, from looking through the bottle, that the Nut Brown ale has taken the bullet meant for the Nelson Sauvin pale ale. I'll post some pics when I get a bit of spare time, hopefully over the weekend but I promise nothing. :(

I don't get accused of normalcy all that often. Thanks.

As mentioned in an earlier post a bottle of nut brown ale became the first victim of Australia Post.

Standard all care no responsibility disclaimer.

I'd say plastic would be the preferred option in the absence of a wine box. I can't speak for others, but if you've yet to send your contribution I'm not too worried if you want to bottle into a couple of sanitised 375ml coke bottles, as long as you are confident that they're properly sealed and kept in the dark, although brown coopers plastics would be preferred.

As for the nut brown, SG, don't worry about replacing it. I'm happy to put it down to experience as it's your first time in beer lotto.

No, but my tongue's a mess.

Drinking Saaz Gorilla's Pale Ale now. Pours a pale amber with a thin, tight head that dissipates about half way down the glass. Hops and malt on the nose which is enticing. Nice mouth feel, some body there but still crisp and refreshing. Bitter with malt to balance and a decent hop flavour/aroma. It wouldn't be fair of me to pick fault because of hop choice, the Nelson Sauvin only partly hidden behind the Cascade, which is to say both hops are evident with neither dominating, big tick there for mine. A very good, approachable APA. Well done.

I don't see how I can resist sending another bottle after those those tasting notes. Thanks for the review, emnpaul. Your tasting notes are far more advanced than my own, which extend to 'not a pilsner, but still drinkable'.

I'll let you know when I send over another raving Nutter.

Drinking Sonny's American Amber.

Thin head that comes and goes pretty quickly. Dark Amber to light brown colour that belies a sprightly, citral aroma. Excellent clarity with an equally clean, malty taste that is seriously threatened by an assertive, North Western hop flavour and cleansing bitterness. If Little Creatures Pale Ale had a swarthy, ethnic cousin, this would be it.
Hard to say how this could be improved and the woozy, hanging gates 'till my back says no photo fails to do it justice.

Gee Paul, you are really getting the hang of writing 'beer tasting notes'.

Might be a future there I reckon. I'm glad you enjoyd it.

The Wetpaks are a damn good product.
If I can emulate their quality but create new beers in my AG, I'll be a happy man.
