I now no what this is, i googled it and downloaded a trial version of beersmith and its bloody fantastic i think i will be purchasing this at only $20, Thanks ACT

I use Beersmith. I still have some issues with working out the efficiency, but it is a very good tool for sussing out IBU's, colour, alcohol percent etc, and seing what they should be for the style.

You can tinker with your grain amounts and see how it changes the recipe.

BTW, go to the site, and in the downloads you can download Australian malts (JW) to use in the recipes.

Cheers mate, will do, i did a trial run recipe and sort of figuered out how to do it :lol: I would expect that you could save the expected figures relating to the efficiency thing and compare them to actual figures after the mash, adjust to suit and this should give you an accurate efficiency, i think :lol: :lol:

Just did a C pale ale with 750 LDME, 250 Dex, 250 Dex, 150 DME, and 15 Hersbrucker.

I just finished preparing starters for my next brew, which will be a partial mash Pale Ale using British Ale wYeast.

This will be shortly be followed by a porter with the same yeast.

I'll start brewing tomorrow :D
