Diacetyl Rest

Post by AidanMatthews »

Hey guys,

I have a lager yeast fermenting away at 12*C

Im going to do a diacetyl rest and im thinking about doing it when the foam on top of the wort starts to thin and the
gravity is 1016 - 1020.

Rest at 16 or 18*c for 2 days.

Any tips here....

is my timing correct is my Diacetyl rest temp correct.

Yeast is Wyeast 2007 Pilsen lager

Thanks warra,

i racked into a secondary 2 nights ago @ 1022
left it for ~ 30 hrs before increasing temp to 16*C for Diacetyl rest. (made this change last night)

Will leave there for 2 days and bring slowly down to 12*C and take another gravity measurement.

Im hoping by that time FG has been reached and ill continue to drop it to 3*C for laggering.
