I am taking a shot at my own recipe. I was trying for an IPA of sorts but not sure now.
3 gallon partial boil, 5 gallon total
1 pound Belgian Biscuit milled malt steeped for 30 minutes at <170F
6 pounds Pale Ale LME hour boil
1/2 ounce Simcoe 14% whole for last 30 minutes
1 1/2 ounce Simcoe whole for last 5 minutes
What would you say that is?

It's going to be my third brew ever and first try at own recipe. I'll try your suggestion. With the biscuit I was shooting for a little more body than normal but not thick.

Both Android and iOS have brewing apps. I can't personally recommend any though. Someone else might like to vouch for one.
But brewing software, while often helpful and instructive, will not help you work out what style the recipe will make. The user needs to choose a style manually in these programs - the programs are not smart enough to make such assessments.
I haven't done any conversions to metric so I can't give a specific style but depending on your gravities, IBU and yeast selection, you're looking down the barrel of an APA/AIPA.
I am ridiculously jealous that you get to play with simcoe flowers.

iBrewMaster isn't too bad on iOS. Can't remember exactly, but I think I paid $5 for it.

Even tho I am still very new to this, I am learning that I live in modern home brew paradise. Simcoe... I live in the Simcoe mountains. I think these hops are grown about 40 miles from my house. I'm also about 30 miles from the Cascade mountains... Ie cascade hops. 80 miles from the willamette valley... Willamette hops. 35 miles from Hood River, home of Wyeast which is named for the native word for Mt Hood.

If only beer was made by osmosis, hey?

I guess times change. Once upon a time this country was NOT known for good beer. And while I would never hint that we now have the BEST beer, its certain that we have our share of GOOD beer now. At any convenience store you can buy decent brews. And it seems that every one pony town has a brewery. I may not learn from osmosis but I do have some stiff competition around and a plentiful supply of fresh ingredients.

Hey MD,
You're not wrong about the US beer scene. I was there in February and was blown away by the number of brews and variety of styles available in just about ever bar.
You can read about it
here, although your whole life is probably like this
Like Bum, I am ridiculously jealous of you, but on so many levels!
Cheers,
Oliver

You can use either metric or imperial. It has a habit of defaulting to imperial on every update, though.

BrewPal (iPhone based brewing app) tells me that that recipe will get you an APA, not an IPA:
