Lowenbrau
Lowenbrau
Does anyone have a recipe for Lowenbrau?
I guess a good quality pilsner kit would be a start but suggestions of yeast and hops addatives?
Even a full mash if any one knows. I would like to do one soon...
Cheers

Lowenbrau.... two dots above the o and a.
http://www.grumpys.com.au/r1.php3?recipeid=10
Is the only place i could find. i have seen a recipe in a book for it, but can't remember the name of it, so not much use there
But yes...Lowenbrau (pretty sure it's pronounced LoovenBroy) the w being a v sound in german in case you were wondering
Please let me know how this turns out, as im a big fan of it
in fact over the weekend i had a 6 pack out of my 1 litre mug (massKruge)
i recommend getting one of the mugs as they make it so much more enjoyable.
i bought mine from the Lowenbrau Keller in Sydney. They posted one up to me, pretty damn cheap for the quality. Paid $16 for each one plus postage

Find an email there and ask them.

Sounds like Beer O'clock.
Hate to bring up an old thread but am keen to make one of these.
I have a recipe from the Brewcraft leaflet but not sure if i should do grumpys or the Brewcraft one which is -
Beermakers Lager (including dry enzyme)
1kg Light Dry malt
300g Carapils malted grain (crushed)
5g Northern Brewer, 10g Hallertau & 10g Tettnanger hops
Saflager W34/70 yeast. Final volume 21 litres
Bring 2 litres of water to the boil, add Carapils malt, reduce heat
& simmer for 20 minutes. Add the hops & dry malt & increase
heat to boil for the last minute. Rest for 15 minutes then strain.
Have been mainly doing kits so this might be a good opportunity to branch out, any thoughts?

My wife calls me a pedantic bastard, but they're not dots, they are called an "umlaut". By the way, my wife is always right. She also doesn't drink, which means more for me..... lolRysa wrote:Aha, cheers. A mate showed me how to do the dots one night after a few home brews and the next time i went to type it i had no idea.
Thanks Warra.
Anyone got a recipe for skittlebrau?
