Has anyone got any ideas on how to replicate Hahn Premium? I'm only a kit brewer so I don't need any fancy U beaut recipes please. I was going to try a Black Rock Lager kit with a Hersbrucker teabag and a saflager yeast and a kilo of half malt and half dextrose brewbooster.

Beerboy,
I would run with your suggested recipie. Try to keep the brewing temps down. The only variation I would have given was to use a Coopers Draught kit, but I think the difference would be slight at most.
Cheers,
Greg

Hi,
One from the local brew shop,
1.7kgs Morgans Blue Mountain larger
1kgs Brew booster Mix of Dextrose, light malt, corn syrup
24g Hallertau hops
Follow usual method but adding the hops as follows:
Boil 12g (Morgans boil in the bag type) for about 30mins for bittering with a couple of table spoons of the Larger malt and 1lite of water, after 30mins added second 12g lot of hops and remove from heat allow to stand for 10-15ms for finishing aroma. Add to wort.
Cheers

Is Hallertau hops similar to Hersbrucker? The reason I ask this is that on the Hahn Premium stubbies is says they add a late gift of Hersbrucker hops.

G'day,
Yes very similar, the Hersbrucker i believe tend to give a slightly spicer, finish; from what I've read.
Either should do the trick.
Let us know how it turns out.
Cheers

Hersbrucker & Mittelfrueh are both types of Hallertau hops.
