I'm looking for a redback clone recipe, or at least something very similar? Anyone tried anything like this b4?

Cheers,

Try a Coopers or Morgans Wheat beer kit with a 1 to 1.5 kilos wheat malt. and a Safale K97 yeast.

Cheers,
Greg

one that works for me - tested it against a Redback - wife thought the Redback was the homebrew.

Morgans Golden sheaf wheat
1 can Morgans Wheat malt
10grams Saaz hops - dry method
1 pride of ringwood teabag (Morgans)
K97 yeast-rehydrated
fill fermenter to 21litres
brew between 18-22c

After secondary fermentation - cold condition in fridge 2-4c for about 4-6 weeks then start drinking

* 1Kgs Morgan's Liquid Beer Enhancer Master blend
* 500g Dextrose
* 12g Hallertau Hops
* Saflager yeast or K97 Safwheat

Pitched and fermeneted low 20's

Exactly that is a recipe I have used too, courtesy of AussieClaret here. Very easy, good clone of Redback, and an excellent beer.

Highly recommended.

Joel,
If you had looked half way down the page in the recipe section you would have seen the recipe, also use the search function, thats what it's there for.

True, AC...although for some reason your recipe is popping up all over the shop- see http://www.canberrabrewers.org for instance.

I didnt think you would have anyway mate, I am sure you're not that sort of person! :wink:
You may not, but some quite obviously do...I have never claimed a recipe to be my own, FFS I've only bottled my second ever brew so its not like I've been able to lay claim to any of them! :lol: :lol:

This was Smabb enterprises first go at a home grown recipe, aiming for a redback clone. The result wasn't bad - 8/10 I scored it.

Morgans Golden Sheaf tin
1kg wheat malt
500g LDME
Saaz (sorry can't remember exact details, but can post if anyone is interest, once I look it up again)

For the record I got some ideas here and elsewhere on the net and had a look at matilda bay's site.

Yeah apparently now we have to put where we got the recipe, who we got it from, how we managed to get it, why we got it & mention this in 47 other forums! :lol: :lol: :lol:

What kind of temp range does the K-97 wheat yeast work best in?
