Drinking music
I'm listening to The Eagles, Desperado, while supping a dark ale.
What's your fave drinking music?

There is lots of good drinking genres, like Aussie rock (AC/DC etc), Punk (Sex Pistols, Ramones), but nothing beats good old metal! Beer goes down really well with Slipknot, Metalica or Pantera.
I also like some Rammstein, Faith No More etc for good session drinking.
Though it is hard not to mention Tool when beer consumption is discussed. Especially the Lateralus album.

I suspect that what music you reckon goes best with beer depends at least partly on the beer.
Surely you wouldn't listen to the same music while drinking a Belgian Tripel as you would with a dark ale, or for that matter a lager.
Presumably you'd want something rather more esoteric for the Belgian. Go and find some art rock or something.

You just. I'm currently listening to opera though unfortunately I'm at work[*] so I'm not drinking beer of any kind at all
. Thomas Tallis would have to rate in my books as one of the greatest artists ever (for those who have not heard of him, he was court composer to Henry VIII, Edaward, Mary, and Elizabeth I and managed not to get his head cut off.
The work that he is best known for is Spem In Alium which is for forty voices each singing an independant part. Definitely one for a Karmeliet Tripel.
