It's Hard but I'll Grin and Bear It

Did a guy at work a favour Friday and helped him out of extra big and deep sh..t.

About 2 hours later he asks to borrow my ute because he can't get his car out and wants to go to the shops. 'no problemm says I and chucks him my ute keys with the usual mesage of you prang it you buy it". (Afetr all it is a 5.7ltr SS ute).

We are leaving work and he says when ya get home check under the tonneau i've left something for you. get hoem and there is 2 x cases of Crown Lager.

I know its hard, but I'll just have to grin and bear it while I work my way thru 48 stubbies and then recycle the empties to full stubbies oif brew.

Yeah, i know a lot of you don't like Crownies but i am rather partial to them and Cascade premium and boags Premium.

 not sure if I agree with you on this one Beerpig.

Wassa use it as fodder. It'll help keep those beer swilling guests away from your HB :P

Chris

I can even choke down VB when the situation demands

Yes HB is better in my opinion, but I still enjoy some commercial beer & discovering new ones

Cheers

Can't come at vB or Rech's, but will drink and enjoy Crownies.

Sorry guys but one of Aussies better commercial beers IMHO.

Mind you good brew always takes some beating.....especially with the hangover stakes......never been hungover with good brew.

The biggest problem with Crownies are they are ridiculously overpriced for their quality. For the same price you can grab some Coopers Pale Ale.
Now which is better?

I've have been handed crownies to drink lately

I don't know what I've done to dis-please the gods but its been a hella bad punishment!

I was out in sydney the other night (and given that it is yuppie ville) there were a crap load of people drinking crownies.

I don't get it - and the other thing i noticed was that some places only sold crownies - what is the deal with that?

Definitley not a crownie fan!

I wonder how hard it`d be to make a crap beer - charge a premium for it and sell it buy the bucket loads! I'd imagine that you would have to take a leaf from the books of crownie and corona makers!

Make bad beer, sell the image.

Aus and USA have been doing it for years.

At least you get the empties though.

I'm not a fan of crownies, too expensive for what they are. However I consider them a large step up from VB/carlton cold.

If you have trained the population to drink dirty water from a green can an average beer becomes premium, thus you can charge a preumim price for it.

I've got to disagree with this.

I'd much rather drink VB than a Crownie or a Coldie. But on the other hand I'd much rather drink anything but a VB.

If only the yuppies knew that they were drinking Fosters (see Boozers' post: http://www.homebrewandbeer.com/forum/vi ... php?t=1984)
