hi am thinking of trying to make a semi grolsch clone out of a kit, morgans lager, wals or Xtract lager plus some extra hops. already have some hallertau and a kilo of LDM. appreciate some advice on what would work for a novice brewer thanks

Thats a pretty decent temperature to use a Saflager, if only a touch too high. Best to go with Saflager W34/70.
LDM and Hallertau are fine for the style, and I'm sure any good lager kit will work. If you could find a specific dutch lager kit to begin with, you could try that as your base.

Looks like the Wals Lager can comes with a genuine lager yeast already (which is probably a Saflager), so go with that one.

Try brewcraft dutch lager with number 15 brew booster, hallertau finishing hops 10g and saflager yeast, final volume 22l
