Cost Of Commercial 50l Kegs

Post by WSC »

Hi All,

I'm reseacrhing a business idea and need to know the following:

How much approximately would a pub/club pay for a 50L keg of say XXXX/New/VB or the like?

Appreciate anyone's help that may work in/manage/own a pub/club.

Cheers and thanks.

Ive gone to purchase them for parties and have gotten them for around $175. Being an auditor I recently attended some pub stocktakes and they valued the full kegs at cost between $130 and $150

$175 a keg hardly seems worth the effort

50L @ $175 = 1L @ $3.50

There are 9 litres in a slab (24 x 375mL) and a slab of VB / New on special is about $30

So... 9L @ $30 = 1L @ $3.33

I suppose the only benefit of the keg is being able to use a draught system and in a party scenario that would be a bit more fun.

Oh well.... that's the accountant in me

The keg at a party would be more fun,! but you need to have someone keeping an eye on it to make sure that the beers are being poured properly and that there isnt too much wastage from people pouring cups of foam.
That would change the final coast per litre price quite a bit.

Thats my thoughts anyways.
