Has anyone ever made this brew?

I have one to put down with Brewcraft brewblend no. 20 that is suppose to give me a Czech Budweiser clone. Guess I'll put this down with the Czech Budejovice yeast I have.

Does anyone know what is in Brewblend 20????

I haven't made the Brewcraft Czech pilsner, but I know somebody who swears by it.

I think #20 brew enhanser is also described as the "malt plus booster," and has a mixture of malt, glucose and corn syrup. I used it when making the Brewcraft Kilkenny recipe, but since it's the only time ive used #20 or Muntons Yorkshire bitter, I can't comment on the flavours contributed by the #20 on its own.

I have one going now.. But used the #62 Czech Brew Booster (I think)..

I made one of these about a year ago and has been the best brew I have made. I used the Brewcraft German Lager brew booster, no.70 I think. It was fantastic. Up until I made this I was never a big fan of Pilsner but made it out of curiosity. Definitely give it a go.

there's a thread here somewhere about what's in the various blends etc. from the notes I took at the time of reading that thread I think #20 contains 500g LDM, 250g Maltodex & 250g Dex.

I have a receipe for budweiser in my 'brews to do' book that I think I got from the brewcraft website that included the Czech pilsner, #20, saflager and 10g saaz hops.

Not sure I'll ever get round to this one. I think I am having a change of mindset from reading the posts in this forum. I started out trying to replicate commercial brews but now I'm thinking "why would you do that??"

You make home brew so you can make the calls about how your beer tastes...not so you can copy someone else's ideas on how to make a mass produced bottle of watery piss!

One of my home brew goals is to make a nice 're-doable' pilsner, but who gives a crap whether it tastes like budweiser or not!!

I agree with you Ernie, that's what I do, but I was given the makings (except the Budejovice yeast that I bought for another Pilsner) and told that's what it's suppose to make so thought I'd give it a go.

As long as it's a good Pilsner and doesn't turn out like American Bud, I'll drink it.

Put one of these down yesterday with 1kg LDME and 30g saaz hops with saflager w34/70 yeast.. Will let you know how it went in a month or so if I remember

You will not find out exactly what is in the Brewcraft enhancer kits!!!

It is part of brewcraft marketing. Buy selling these brew blends and brew enhancers and not telling you what is in it you are forced to go back to them if you want to repeat the brew.

They seem very disinterested in helping brewers learn how to make good beer and what goes into making different styles or the effects of different fermentables on your beer. All they care about is getting you to come back (as most stores do); however, instead of giving good advice and service they have their secret brew blends and enhancers.
