Improved lager

I wrote here about a month ago asking for asvice about my Bavarian lager, which lacked that lager taste and crispness.
That was at 7 weeks in the bottle. By 12 weeks it's like a different beer: clean, crisp and delicious. Just what I'd hoped for in fact.
Amazing what a difference 5 weeks can make.
Or perhaps I just had a bad bottle first...

In my experience 12 weeks is a minimum, leave it for another 12 and it will be even better

Glad to hear to cos i have one to put in soon

I have justed starting drinking a Bavarian I made (which was my first partial recipe). I thought I screwed it with my mash procedure, but is has turned out o.k. It is a bit drier than i wanted ( as a result of not getting high enough mash temp), but overall it is quite a tasty beer.

Yeah, I've done 6 lager brews over the winter. Can't wait till summer!

Yes as my recipe wasn't an AG, I used a can concentrate (Cooper's Bavarian) as well as the grains and hops.

I haven't tried adding grain - just using the coopers kit and liquid malt extract. But I'm pretty happy with the results I'm getting so far. I do add hops to some.
