Tonight brew

This recipe was my first ever AG recipe. It was supposed to be a Tooheys Old copy, but ended up coming out much better :D
I have brewed this 7 times now and have not had to change a thing with the recipe.
Mash in at 8.30pm when rug rats are asleep, bed at about 2.00pm.

looks tasty Duane, great for someone like me with only a small setup, hope you don't mind if i add it to my vault to make on a later day. I'm making an 80- partial tomorrow morning, it'll be my first recipe i made myself if it comes up good i'll make sure to post the recipe

thumbs up to the 1084 yeast, i'v used it heaps lately. definately a winner

no worries Phill, use as you wish. Very nice beer.
I like to leave it to condition for 3 weeks before drinking, but my father in law drinks all his share 2 weeks after bottling.
Yeah 1084 is a fantastic yeast, love it

Could you tell me more about Target hops, I don't know much about them.

ACT, Target is a very nice bittering hop from the UK, from memory I think about 11%AA.
Very smooth-no harshness and i find gives a very mild hint of pepper.
I even tried it as a bittering hop in my last lager. Havnt tried it yet so cant say if its good in lagers or not.

The house smells sensational.
Bed at 1.30am, an early night. Woo Hoo :shock:

sure does greg, this is now the eighth time this recipe has been brewed.
Still cant beleive I got the recipe so good on my first try at formulating black beer. Both fatherinlaw and I are stoked :D
Next black im gonna try formulating is a robust porter. mmmmm
