Colour

Hey Guys,
I made a brew that has been in the fermenter a week now. Just a kit and kilo. Coopers Sp. Ale and 1kg of light malt extract. Well its been in there a week now, tastes o.k but im assuming will get better with age but my concern is the color, its a horrible malty colour. Any reason for this or ways around it next time?

Please be more specific on the colour, or even post a photo. Are you basing this colour on the first squirt of beer you get out of the ferementer? If so, be aware that the yeast settles on the tap intake, resulting in the first bit of beer to come out being very cloudy...

aggh ok I get ya maybe thats the case. Another question, sorry to be annoying but Im using glass bottles for the first time and most of my bottles are 330ml. Im really paranoid about them exploding, Im using carb drops. One per 330ml two per 800ml tallie. Will this be safe?

Well, I doubt that they'd explode. But they
will be overcarbonated. Why don't you just go to your homebrew shop and get a scoop? Most HBSes have scoops which have three corners, one for 330, one for 500, and one for 750. Or something.
Mind you, I haven't done anything except bulk prime since my third brew.

Well, don't overreact. It's only an extra 13% priming sugar, unlike that other thread where someone put in twice as much for their ginger beer!
You'll probably be OK.
Has anyone used priming drops in 330mL bottles? What was the result?

Yeah Braden and RWH,
I found that their fine. When I used them I only put 1 per 640ml bottle, but they are designed for 375ml right? So with 330ml you are trucking right. you may notice slightly more gas or not. It really depends on what temp your brew was last at etc. I would say if there is a noticeable over gasyness then it will take a couple of minutes sitting in the glass to disipate. Don't worry mate the bottles won't explode if your brew had finished fermenting before bottling.

1 drop per 330 ml stubbie is fine, i did this in the past and worked out ok
