Ok, I have been trying to look for a diet beer recipe however get a lot of sites that mention dieting and that you should drink beer. Like they know anything.

I have just bottled a brew with no sugar and extra malt. This is what I used.
1 x can black rock lager
1 x yeast
1 x dry enzyme
1 kilo light extra malt

I bottled it at 1.002.

Now i have to wait.

I am about to put another brew down but thought I might get some other ideas.

To my way of thinking the only way you could make a diet beer is to lower the alcoholic content. You can't get a full flavoured diet beer as far as I'm aware.

That would be a very dry beer. It'll not have many residual sugars, and to my taste, well no taste. Also Pale_Ale is correct about the full strength beers, due to the metabolism of alcohols. Its complex but the result is usually increased blood sugars, (and I'm talking due to the alcohol, not the beverage its contained in) which isn't good for a diabetic, and lipidosis, which is part of what kills your liver.

Isn't it just easier to exercise more or drink less rather than end up with a crap tasting beer?

Steak & eggs in every beer so therefore, have a beer for dinner instead of food (ps: don't do this)

I too would rather drink less of a great beer rather than more of say, Fosters Light Ice or other alternatives.

Steak and eggs in every beer? Not likely!
