Morgans Golden Saaz Pilsener - opinions/suggestions

Hey peoples,
I just bought this kit & some other bits...
Morgans Golden Saaz Pilsener 1.7kg kit
Morgans Master Blend Lager malt 1kg
Saflager W34-70
Will I likely need more hops or are these kits pretty well hopped as is?
If more hops are suggested, more saaz or something else?
If so, how used? (quick boil, steep or dry hop)
Any other suggestions?
Also I finally got a secondary fermenter (a cube, more space efficent) & my brew fridge should have a seal that actually works arriving next week so this will be my first attempt at a true lager, I'm excited!
Looking forward to additional hop and/or other advice.
Cheers
Ash

Woo! My first attempt at a genuine lager tomorrow too. Quite similar aswell.
Morgan's Blue Mountain Lager
Morgan's Master Blend Lager Malt 1kg
25g Hersbrucker Hops
Saflager W34/70
Very excited
Normally I would recommend some Saaz hops but I've never tried this kit either so I can't really tell you. Good luck though.

It's a good beer omen

I've got my hops on the boil right now, I'm cautiously excited

I got 4 cans of this today in an auction I won on ebay. I picked up a Czech Pilsner kit converter, Saflager yeast and some Saaz hops for it. I'll probably put 2 down tonight.
The only other pilsner I've done was the Muntons Export Pilsner with the Czech kit converter, 500g malt, Saflager yeast. It turned out quite nice, so the Morgans should be good too I guess.

Heya Ash, I just made the Morgans Golden saaz pilsner a few months back, did it with more Saaz, a teabag chucked in right before pitching yeast. Turned out very nice. Kit is reasonably hopped, not ultra strong but its there. Just a little more for aroma (hence the additional saaz i chucked in) and it'll be a cracker.
I made that BM lager tin too....turned out quite high in alc content and veeeery nice.

Brewing Lagers or similar type beers at cold temps is the best thing Ive ever done.
I have a young but so deliciously yummy TCB wetpak Euro Pilsner that is by leaps and bounds the best beer Ive ever brewed. Brewed at 12C with two packs of saflager, was in primary for 11 days and 2nd for 14 days, now 1 month 4 days in bottle and mmmmmm. Ive had to store it away from my house so I dont drink it all.

BenH - I just happened to chuck in a teabag of Saaz when I put this down this morning - thanks for putting my mind at ease. What other fermentables did you use though?
Biggles - this brew will be my 2nd into a keg so I'll have trouble keeping away from it.
I'm hoping to get that crisp lager taste happening.

I used a kilo of Cellarplus Wheat/Malt mix. I don't know exactly whats in it so bit of a downer there, anyone got any ideas on what is in that Cellarplus mix?
IMHO the blue mountains lager (done correctly of course) will give you more of that crisp lager taste you're looking for.

Just racked this today at about the 2 week point, 1.020 down from 1.042 & the theoretical end point is 1010 or so.
Also it's just in the past 3 days gone buttery so starting the diacetyl rest now as it's roughly 2/3rds done. Tasted unreal a couple of days ago before the diacetyl really built up - brewed it at approx 9*c.
After a little advice guys....
I've been working from the info in "How to Brew" by John Palmer regarding lagers & he suggests 24-48 hours for the rest.
Do you determine the exact time by tasting it & put it back down to primary ferment temp once the taste is gone or just leave it for 2 days, rough enough good enough?

I also have the Morgans Pilsener to go down, but with a Pale Liquid Malt.
Any further thoughts on brew hops and aroma hops would be appreciated.
Especially if you gentlemen have done this puppy before.

It's been 5 days since I racked it & it's only dropped from 1020 to 1018 & the buttery taste/stink is still there even with the temp elevated to 16*c for that time (5 days) - did I muff this one up?
