thanks for the great info on this site
newbie brewer with basic gear and no easy way of chilling brew (no spare fridge & on tank water which tends to be a tad warmer than town water at this time of year)
can anyone recommend any of the basic kit brews for successful brewing when the temp is high 20s?
So far I have made Canadian Blonde, Black Rock, Coopers Pale Ale & Bavarian Lager (OK I know that last one is probably a no no when its summer). all very drinkable at around 8 weeks so far.
any advice appreciated
Al

Its not the kit that is the problem in these temps but the yeast, you can brew any kit you like as long as the yeast will handle the brewing conditions, it may not be exactly true to style but will still be good

Wrapping the fermenter in a wet towel (and keeping it wet) can drop the temperature of the thing by a couple of degrees. I'm currently playing with an ice bath fueled by ice I'm making in the kitchen freezer. I think I may have been too successful - I've got one of them down to about 16C and I think the Coopers yeasties may be wanting a jumper.

Less is more, but so is more.
