GDay, on saturday afternoon (4~5pm) I set up my fermenter with a kit of Coopers Cerveza with the recommended Brew Enhancer 2, and the supplied yeast.

On sunday afternoon it was bubbling every 2seconds, by monday morning (8am) it was every 20seconds, monday night (11pm) every minute and now, tueday arvo (1pm), i think it might still be going but i got bored sitting there waiting for it to bubble.

Does this sound normal?

I live in brisbane so it is pretty warm around here, 25~30 degrees.

Also does anyone have an opinion of Coopers Cerveza with Brew Enhancer 2 and supplied yeast? I'm hoping it will turn out something like Corona which is my personal favorite.

G'day JS, and welcome to the forum. Everything sounds fairly normal to me, no need to worry at all. I'd take an SG reading tomorrow and then another 24 hours later, if they're the same it's bottling time.

Some people like to leave their beers for a few extra days after final gravity to help the beer clear, others like to rack. If you're new to the caper, just bottle it when you're sure it's finished.

As for the Cerveza, i've never brewed it before so i'm no help to you there.

Probably a bit late now but wrapping a wet towel around the fermenter can make a noticable (2-4*c) difference

The Cerveza is not a good one to brew if it's that hot - the kit yeast is an ale/lager blend and it is better brewed at about 18C, lower if you prefer a cleaner taste.

If you are looking for a corona taste, you won't get it at those temperatures. However, if you want to get closer to it, use a Safale dried yeast instead of the kit yeast and add 1kg dextrose instead of BE2.

My opinion of the BE2 with the Cerveza is that it works fine, but it doesn't taste like Corona. Corona at the end of the day has basically no body and no real taste (I'm not bagging it, it's ok to drink on a hot day) so the addition of the BE2 I find gives it too much body and to much maltiness. Dextrose will give you a more watery taste truer to the style.
