Recreating Carbine Stout?

While I'm not a noted stout drinker, we had our latest work Christmas party at the XXXX brewery, and I took the opportunity to sample both the Carbine stout and the XXX on tap there... and especially loved the Carbine.
Does anyone have any experience/theories on cloning it?

You can really taste the horse!
If I ever work it out, should I market it and christen it "Fine Cotton"?

Nah, if you buy the commercial example then relabel it to pass off as your brew, then it could be called 'Fine Cotton'.
Cheers,
Greg

You could ring him and ask, but I don't think he's keen to discuss it.

Seriously though, I'd suggest starting with a White tin Coopers Stout and a bag of 'Stout combo' (available from any good HBS) and go from there tasting etc.
I had a Carbine Stout before Christmas, but cannot recall anything in particular about it beyond 'nice stout'
Cheers,
Greg

Well, I might just have to drink more stout then... in the name of research of course...
