I heard a few different opinions of how to store the PET between brews but want to check on here. Of course rinse them out ASAP afterwards but what then. I don't intend to leave them too long before they're filled again but don't want any chance of infection or spoilled next brew.
I usually rinse well and allow to dry in the dish rack, rest the lid on ( i do this cos im forgetful and if i didnt i would lose them) Back in the original box then on brew day steralise, rinse, fill
I usually rinse, drain and screw lids back on, not too tight but enough to keep out any insect type greeblies. Lids off, lids on.....don't know whether theres any great benefit to either, especially since you're going to sanitise before you refill em anyway.
I rinse them thoroughly after emptying - three times - last rinse I leave 25 mm of water in bottom - then I put the cap on and store upright until I am ready to wash and bottle again.
have fun,
dasher.
I did have them stored with bout a third of water in them as i'd read that somewhere but i drained them all last night. Shook the hell out of them to get all drops out cause i've got bout 36 empties ready for next batch and didn't have room to drip dry em. They won't be sitting too long before i fill 'em again anyways, better make sure i rinse them well when i re-fill.
Cheers again, Ryan.
After use, I rinse them out in warm water. They get stored in a box in a spare bedroom with the lids off. Before refilling, I wash them out with some of that no rinse steralizer.
Rinse well with hot water when emptied, dry, cap, ready for refilling. I don't sanitise the bottles prior to filling, found it a waste of time and peroxide. Cheers

i like the philosophy. even if you did get an infection, what are the odds of more than a bottle or two copping it? not much..
