Hello all,

My dad gave me a 1.8kg Brewcraft Newcastle Brown Ale tin (one of his favourites) and I'm keen for suggestions about what to add to it in the way of grain and hops...anything. The instructions suggest using the Brown Ale Enchaner (#72). What do you reckon?

I've been brewing since January, up to my fourth and spent many hours soaking up the knowledge on these wonderful forums. Haven't been able to convince my wife about getting a dedicate brewing fridge yet .

Cheers,
Nick.

What is in said #72?

Most HBS will have a 'Amber Brew' sugar mix which is 300g LDME, 200g DDME, 250g Dextrose, 250g Maltodextrin which would probably go nice with a brown ale. Also steep in about 200gm Crystal malt.

Also see this thread.

Cheers,
Greg
