I recently used pellet hops for the first time and just threw them in after flameout.
Didn't really give it much thought at the time, but should I have put them in something to stop them floating around in my wort or will they eventually sink to the bottom.
I plan on leaving in primary for two weeks before bottling, but am thinking i may have to rack to get the hops out???

will be fine, how many grams of hops? ale or lager yeast? racking gets rid of the crap,i rack then turn the fridge down after a few days to about 4C for a week then bulk prime to make sure my last 5 stubbies dont end up with more sediment than necessary

It was an Ale yeast, kept at 20 degrees for 6 days now.

worst that can happen is that you'll have tasty little green flecks in your beer.

wouldn't worry too much though, it should all settle out given enough time.

Never had a problem myself. They always settle out for me.

I always rack now if they were not in a teabag.

I have had a couple of floaties when I didn't rack at the start, but that doesn't stop me drinking it.

Never get floaties, never strain hops (unless steeped with grain)

had a bit of a brain fart and chucked 15 gms of Amarillo dry in the secondary

Ended up with hop-yak in the brew but I gunna drink it any way

I don't think so, it will settle out in the time that you'd have it in secondary (i.e at least a week but probably longer).

Bulk priming helps further.

Even then the hops should eventually sink in the bottle.

Had it in the 2ndry for at least a week
was green hop gunk all down the side when I tranferred to bulk prime tub
lttle bits of hop swirlin in thr brew but guess this will settle out in the bottle?

Boiled 15 gms amarillo in the BE2 and brew for 5 mins in last two brews they sitting nice and clear in the secondary waiting for bottling this weekend

Hafta say me Coops Pale ale with BE2 and 500gm LMDE(no hops) has turned out shit hot
Recommended for kit and kilo punters

Yeah it has a superb flavour and there is something 'special' about it IMO.
