Commercial Beer Carbonation

How do most commercial breweries carbonate their beer? Is is the same as carbonating softdrink etc?
I meant to respond earlier,
They run it over carbonation stone normally while it is being filtered so it is considered an in-line process. That is, those companies that don't bottle condition.
