What to do with over carbonated batch ?

Gday Guys,
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to deal with an over carbonated batch.
I 'maybe' added a little bit more sugar than usual to bulk prime  cos I wanted a nice refreshing lager, but the grolsch bottles go off like champagne when opened and it's got the mouth feel of schweppes dry ginger ale.(nice taste though)

I'm thinking I should maybe recap all my bottles, I'm hoping this will alleviate the problem and maybe stop any bombs down the track (bottled about a month now).
Any ideas or known fixes out there ?

Thanks

I would suggest carefully opening slightly to release teh gas and then reseal ASAP. Maybe chilling before hand may slow down the foaming.

How much did you prime with?

Thanks BPJ.
I used 3/4 cup white sugar.

Get them cold before you do anything. 3/4 cup of dex shouldn't be having that effect.

Hi Dogger,
I actually added 1cup/250ml to this batch.(normally 180ml)
Do you mean get them all cold to slow/stop any more fermentation ?
Also BPJ mentioned stopping the foaming, well they dont actually foam, they are just full of tiny little bubbles and lots of them when poured, they dont foam when opened (just go BANG !)
Thanks

No,

The colder the beer the more CO2 can dissolve into the beer and as in any equilibrium it will reduce the pressure in the headspace of the bottle so when you snap the cap (so to speak) it wont be a fountain of beer and have you mopping up the floor and ceiling.
