I agree in general, and I especially find that most restaurants these days have a very poor beer list. Next time you look at the beer list, see how many are import or domestic lagers, and compare that to the ales. Most of the time you'll find either one ale (most often Coopers Pale), and the rest lagers, or all lagers.
I find it hard to have a beer with my meal now, because they're all soooo disappointing.
Last Friday I went to the
Mountain Goat brewery to try their double IPA (which is fantastic), and I had one of their paddles (which is four different beers in glasses for $10). They're all bloody fantastic. I'd have to say that I like their other beers better than the hightail, so if that's the only one you've tried, get yourself down there on a Friday night. Oh, and the decor is cool too (Massive fermenters everywhere

Drinking their beers with so much hop aroma and flavour starts me thinking that I'm going to need to build a hop-back. Not another piece of equipment!
