Hello, mates, from Arkansas in the United States! Pleased to make your collective acquaintance. I've noticed that nearly everyone on this site lives in Oz, with a couple of exceptions. I hope you fine folks from Down Under won't mind having a yank rubbing elbows with you at the cyberbar.
I haven't purchased any HB equipment yet; my living arrangement is unstable right now. But eventually I would love to get into homebrewing.
Meanwhile, I have been doing a lot of reading online, and a Google search led me to this website, and ultimately to this forum. I've found that there is a wealth of good information here. I've learned a lot from several of you, notably Oliver, Greg, Leigh, Dogger, rwh, a couple of Chrises, and too many names to recall. I now have a better idea how I would like to go about getting started and what kind of equipment I want to get when the time is right. I just wanted to thank everyone for their insight, humo(u)r, and willingness to share.
Cheers,
John

G'day KIP, I don't think anyone here has any objections to having a septic on board, I don't. From what I hear about your beer over there you would be pretty keen to get cranking on the homebrew I would say, mind you there is a few below par beers here too, which probably explains why this site is so popular. I am only a kit brewer so you probably won't get a lot of useful info out of me, but I agree with most of the replies so far. Your beers will improve because you visit this site, and pretty much all you want to know will be answered here! Sometimes there is a bit of bullshit gets on here, but mostly just good fun and information. Welcome!

Enough Said...hey some advice, after those first few brews, or perhaps before, get your recipes together and take them into your HBS, i ask lots of questions and it seems to get me some good deals all over the place,
book to buy Charlie Papazian's "Joy of Homebrewing " vol 3 is what I have, sets it all out for you as the beginner
start experimenting with hops asap, they just smell tooo good!

G'day KIP and welcome,
You will get some great advice on this site. The boys know a hell of a lot about brewing, bottling, kegging and all aspects of brewing.
Cheers
