Hey everyone,

I just at work trying to get some quotes on crates that will fit my 750-800ml longneck bottles,

I was wondering whether anyone could give me the rough dimensions (height, diameter) of the 750ml bottle so i can work it all without having to shoot home and grab one.

Cheers

James

By the way, if i find out where to get these crates, i'll let you all know.

I find that milk crates are a nice size for tallies. You just need to acquire them from somewhere

these crates fit 15 bottles nicely. (there are 15 individual pockets for the beers to go it). they are kinda like the old softdrink crates.

the dimensions of the crate are:

Ext Height 370mm
Ext. Width 300mm
Ext Length 405mm

Just dont know if the crate is too big for the 750ml bottles...

I have milk crates at home, but they look a little untidy..

I'm managed to get old german beer crates for my 330ml bottles and 500ml bottles... just need ones for the 750's

Lack of crates is the bane of my existence.

Though I'm seriously considering going metal.

I have two bottles in front of me, (Tooheys & VB).
By using my eyes. I read the labels.
Tooheys was 750mL.
VB was 800mL.
By also using my eyes I noticed that the bottles were different shapes.
But the same diameter and height.
This would account for the difference.

I got the sizes simply by using my eyes and a ruler.

I go to my local greengrocer and get broccoli boxes. They hold 17 Longnecks comfortably (18 is possible). 22 Stubbies in a Milk Crate. Usually leaves a Stubbie or two in the cupboard for a sampler to check when ready.

Cheers, Pete

I use broccoli boxes for both stubbies and tallies. Sometimes though with the smaller boxes the tallies stick out the top a little. They are aslo quite heavy with 30 stubbies in them (I have to carry them downstairs and then under the house).

Despite that they are great containers.

Mate of mine uses empty copy paper boxes for stubbies. Not too heavy, they keep the light out, and hold I think 15 stubbies.

I used to use WC Penfolds archive boxes. Hold 20 (from memory), quite strong, and have carry handles.

Just using the ruler alone though probably wouldn`t work.
