I've just finished labeling my Rice Lager - Japanese text inside a rising sun, would you believe - and moving it up to storage, and have a Cider nearing the end of a cold weather induced long primary. The last brews before these were my Quadrupel and Tripel, bottled way back at the end of April.
I have a Brewcraft Pale Ale kit, to be turned into a fruit ale in the spring, and a TCB Wetpak Pilsner standing by for my first empty keg.
However, I feel like starting something to bottle next month, I'm getting a little behind. So, someone throw a few brewing suggestions at me for consideration. No matter how plain or outlandish! kit, enhanced kit, extract, or minimash, I'm not geared for full mash.
Thanks

mate, have you tried the ESB nut brown ale? I added some choc grain and about 20g amarillo. One of my best brews to date, light roasted choc, hints of caramel. Even the girls liked it the other night. One of my mates who only ever drinks new aid he'd pay me for some.

Sadly, due to location I am unable to do any of the fresh wort brews, ESB or otherwise - postage is too excessive.

Barleywine/RIS or other strong ales make good bottling candidates.
Cheers,

I've already got a Barleywine 6 months into aging... RIS might be an option, I've only got a Two-can Stout on the shelf at the moment.

I think I've decided to take advantage of the middle of the road weather we're getting here and make a California Common.
3kg Light LME
250gm Crystal Steeped
20g Northern Brewer 1hr
30g Northern Brewer 5mins
WY2112/WLP810 depending where I get the hops and grain from.
I'm also considering an Old Ale, ala Theakstons Old Peculier.
1.5kg Light LME
1.5kg Amber or Dark LME
620g Crystal Steeped
120g Black Malt
500gm Golden Syrup
500gm Maltodextrin
30g Challenger 1hr
35g Fuggles 1hr
12g Fuggles 15m
WY1099/WLP005 (or maybe even a dry sachet if an equivalent exists)
Bulk primed with 150g of Brown Sugar
Those are the basic recipes I found, might tweak them a little.
Will need to fire off a mail order to ESB or G&G to get the yeasts (and some Crystal while I'm at it). Oh Ross, if only you sold liquid yeasts!

NTRabbit - Where about's in Adelaide are you?
If you're around Unley, the Jovial Monk has quite a few yeasts. He might be able to supply them for you. Saves mail order.
Check out his website:

One warning though. If you happen to go there and don't escape for an hour, don't blame me. Once he starts talking about beer, it's hard to get away.
Hope this helps.

I've visited the Jovial Monk website on occasion, but never the store, Parkside isn't exactly close (though it's not an epic journey either, I'm in Aberfoyle Park).
They don't stock the 2112 Californian Lager yeast either, Grumpy's does, and Grumpy's is closer to me.

Hey NTR, Aberfoyle Park is like 30 minutes from Parkside! Slacker!!
It's a good shop, plenty of variety, definately worth a visit if you haven't been.

Theakstons Old Peculier, mmmmmmmmm, yummy ale that one. Had that many a time.
Will be adding that one to my recipe folder, nice on NT.
What about a porter? This recipe makes a lighter style porter.
1 can lager
1 kg LDME
450 g Chocolate Malt
50 g roast barley
15 g POR @ 30 mins
20 g Fuggles @ 25 mins
20 g Fuggles @ flameout
Safale S-04 - 18degC
Or drop in a see Voosher at Grumpys - he is a real ale guru. Chance to sample whatever they have on tap on the handpull is always a good excuse!
Cheers
