IPA with POR, Amarillo and Brewers Gold?

I had planned an APA to use up the remaining 13g of POR and 30g of Amarillo I had in the freezer. But today when I opened my package from Ross I found that not only had the lovely people at AusPost managed to mangle the post satchel, but they actually tore the hop bag right open! If you have ever gotten hops from Ross you know how tough those bags are.

Anyway, I now need to use the Brewers Gold a bit earlier than anticipated. So I thought I may change the APA recipe into an IPA recipe. So far the recipe is as stands. Suggestions on the BG additions would be appreciated.

4.00 kg Pale Malt, Ale (Barrett Burston) (3.0 SRM) Grain 76.19 %
0.75 kg Munich I (Weyermann) (7.1 SRM) Grain 14.29 %

According to the site you bought them from they are more of a bittering hop - so couldnt you bitter when them to get a fair whack of IBUs ,then late additon of amarillo for flavour so you still have an APA?

I like the grain bill tho

Actually I was not impressed by the grain bill so I have mixed it up a bit.

3.40 kg Pale Malt, Ale (Barrett Burston) (3.0 SRM) Grain 67.33 %
1.00 kg Munich I (Weyermann) (7.1 SRM) Grain 19.80 %
0.50 kg Caramalt (Joe White) (25.0 SRM) Grain 9.90 %
0.15 kg Melanoidin (Weyermann) (30.0 SRM) Grain 2.97 %
30.00 gm Amarillo Gold [8.50 %] (Dry Hop 3 days) Hops -
12.00 gm Pride of Ringwood [9.00 %] (90 min) (First Wort Hop) Hops 13.9 IBU
30.00 gm Brewer's Gold [5.00 %] (90 min) (First Wort Hop) Hops 19.3 IBU
30.00 gm Brewer's Gold [5.00 %] (20 min) Hops 9.9 IBU
1 Pkgs California Ale (White Labs #WLP001) Yeast-Ale

I think the BG will be ok as a flavour hop, and the Amarillo should take care of the aroma nicely :)

1kg of munich. Drool!

Just punched in my next APA, 3kg of pale, 1kg of munich, 350g caramalt, might up that to 500g. Either stick with my chinook/cascade combo or do an amarillo/cascade.

I will let you know how it turns out then
