Anyone got a tip on any of the horses running today? I was thinking of having a punt or two for old times sake.

Sounds like a get rich quick scheme. Way too complicated for me! I was looking for an answer like:
Go to the pub, mark BG2 $10 on #15. Have a few beers while you are there.

All I'm going to say is "THANKYOU" to Efficient
Didn't put any money down, but proved to the GF once again, that I pick the winners knowing nothing about the horses. I'd probably jinx it if I placed a bet.

I once walked into a pub and jokingly said "$20 on the long shot" who won the race paying over $100
Would have been a cool $2000!
Today I told my wife the 9 and 24 would place, If I had put $10 on each I would have still walked away $20 up. And if the bloody $24 horse hadn't gotten up I would have placed with both bets!
Unfortunately every time I put my money where my mouth is I never see it again...

Backed 2nd placegetter Purple Moon.
{last of the big time punters-$2 each way}
Should just return enough for 50g. Cascade or a US-56.

What was that about horses running today?
Haven't spent a cent on horse betting for about 10 years, and no doubt much better off as a result.
Incidentally, I avoid the outlaws place on Saturdays like the plague. F-in-L has the damned Sky racing channel on all day, and he is constantly speaking secret numbers into his telephone. Don't know how the M-in-L hasn't gone bonkers.

Is it W.A. where the pokies are banned? Should be Universal. You always hear about the wins, never the losses. They`re a bloody cancer on society.

They are banned in the states. Only place you are allowed to gamble outside of Las Vegas and Reno are the Indian (sorry Native American) casinos. I never did see the point, why play a game you KNOW you are going to lose?
I throw a few dollars at a horse for a big race every now and then, but in general I have to agree that Pokies and racing should be alot more limited and monitored.

Only Burswood Casino has pokies in WA. Me personally have no problem with pokies. If people want to, and it's their choice, put there money through the pokies and help subsidise beer at clubs and allow clubs to give my cricket club sponsorship money then they can go for their lives.

they are irresponsible with their money so probably wouldn't have enough to lend
