All,

I am putting down a partial today which is using a Coopers Draught. The recipie is as follows

1 tin Coopers draught
2.5 kilos pale malt
250 g Crystal
500 g honey
8 grams East Kent Goldings (15 min)
8 grams Saaz (1 min)

I'll do a partial on the grains hitting a temp of 152 F for 90 min and sparge to 12 Litres. Bring to a boil add the Coopers and honey, boil for 30 min and go into hop regime.

Top to 23 L and ferment using the Coopers Ale Yeast supplied. (Sorry guys, I really like it and it is way more consistent than some of the liquids I have used, my opinion only, I know some of you swear by the liquid yeasts but one should never argue with success.)

This looks to be about 5.5 percent using my calcs. Anyone see any issues?

G'day Dogger
It looks good to me but i'm only new to brewing beer.

but i have one question;

when you bring it to the boil and add the coopers kit and boil for another 30 mins wouldn't you be loosing the hop flavour of the kit?

so wouldn't it be better to add it at the end when it's cooled to around 70deg C ?

Jazza,

No, It doesn't work like that, the bittering stays, it is the aromas that blow away hence why I throw some in for the last minute

I've noticed an abundance of Coopers Brew kits in your beers lately Dogger. For an AG man that is. When is this bargain booty of cans going to run out ?

Just as an aside,

I transfered this out of the primary, completed fermenting and clearing in 24 hrs. No shit dit

Never had one that quick but heard it was possible.

Before everyone jumps on the temperature band wagon and how it will taste bad, look at the weather chart for Ontario.

That white stuff is snow, which means its cold. Brewery temps are just over 60 deg F and it tastes good, young but good.
