I tried Peroni on sat nite at a bucks do in Glenelg. Not bad. Can any1 help out with a simalar recipe style for this? Not AG. wouldnt mind giving it a shot

Have you tried Birra Morretti? I prefer it to Peroni.

I think this will be a very hard K&K clone, it is much in the style of Budweiser and Corona and all those other colourless tasteless beers (IMHO) that are very hard to make without a full mash. I did have a bit of a search for you, but not much english stuff popped up

I dont mind a peroni either. As with all cuisines i tend to drink the beer that comes form the coutnry of the food - the beers have evolved with the food.
Anyway. i agree with Kev here, the subtle differences between all the euro lagers (including becks, heinekne, carlsberg etc) is going to be hard to replicate with a kit. I think you can make good lagers with kits, a good yeast, low ferment temp etc but the differences in a lot of these beers is going to be down to the malt anbd how they mash it.
That aside, what hops do you think peroni have in them? I think it may be saaz but its very very sublte, even more so than the classic pilsner urquell...
Not much help, i reckon you can make a much better beer than these using kits as i said. Hard to get that dry, crisp lager flavour froma kit that IMHO will leave too much sweetness behind to balance the subtle hop flavour.

Had both a Peroni and Moretti in my Christmas/New Year stash. Each to their own taste of course, but this is why if I was going for an Italian lager I would choose the Moretti. More golden in colour and a beautiful malty taste. Found the Peroni quite dissapointing and tasteless in comparison. Have been able to get 2 different sorts of Moretti at Dan Murphy's over the past year or so.it is much in the style of Budweiser and Corona and all those other colourless tasteless beers (IMHO)

Had a few bottles of Birra Moretti and they are great! I want more
