Hi all,
I have been happily brewing and consuming for more than a year now.
I am also a regular camper - camper trailer landcruiser engel etc....
I have noted that my brews that appear to have a modest head when poured at home produce a much larger head when poured after being bounced around in the truck for a day or two....at home they are bottled then fridged then drunk!
Even if the brews are left stand idle for a long time after being cruisered i.e. 15 days plus they appear to have more oomph.
My question....
Should I be providing my stock held at home with a trip in the cruiser in order to get a better head??

My guess is that the agitation has caused more yeast and larger particles to flocculate and this is the cause of your improved head, and probably makes for a much nicer beer. I noticed this from beers I have had bouncing around the back of the landy on outback adventures as well.

well it just stands to reason doesn`t it,that a bottle of beer that is shaken around and agitated will pour with more carbonation than one that hasn`t. I wouldn`t think that would be any mystery.
I`d be more concerned with what might happen with all that shaking around if they wern`t chilled down but good. As in bottle bombs.

i'm sure he's leaving them to sit still for a bit of time after the agitation from the trip...

Hi all,
I only use the brown pet bottles, and have only had one bottle bomb and it managed to do its thing in a mates truck ( he drinks it he has to carry at least some of it!).
I think what I might try is a variation on the champagne twirling thing i.e. give the bottles a bit of a spin and shake a couple of times a week for the first two or three weeks and then leave 'em sit for a while.
