Does Black Rock Lager come with a gen lager yeast

what did black rock say when you asked them?

And what does the sachet say? What temperature do the instructions say to brew at?

If in doubt, chuck out the yeast and use a genuine lager yeast.

But remember to keep the temps right down to the low teens so that you get the full benefit of the lager yeast.

Looking at old threads/posts, the general vibe was to basically ignore the
'destructions'.
Read an old post where so called 'lager yeast' was the idiot proof yeast.

Will keep temp down and observe.
