anybody tried this beer from new zealand?

stumbled across it the other day in liquorland and gave it a try, absolutely beautiful, for those who havent tried it, it describes itself as malt / hops / citrus / caramel sort of thing, its 4% and very nice to drink.

was just wondering would i be able to brew something similar with a coopers mexican cerveza kit (have one here), and possibly adding caramel, malt, hops etc, i dont really know, im still an idiot at this brewing lark, but maybe someone here whos tried this beer has tried to duplicate it with success?

Hi

I'm pretty new at this brewing lark too but I do know that you can buy Macs homebrew kits from Lion Nathan (the owner of the brewery) in NZ. Not sure if it is available here in Aus but I have started to look around so will let you know if I find it.

OR maybe someone on here already knows if you can get it here?

James

I reckon it'd be pretty difficult to brew a lager like that using a basic homebrew setup. You really need some decent temperature control to get anywhere near the clean lager malt profile. If I was you I'd try out an amber ale, say the Muntons Royal Oak Amber Ale with a kilo of LDME.
