I know its a touchy subject ,but how much beer does the average home brewer drink in a week ,i have a mate that does a brew every week ,thats two and a half cartons every week ,i drink about one and a half cartons ,i might be nosey ,but interested in consumption levels ,and do you drink more since you have been home brewing

i usually drink every night, but most of them it is only one pint, sometimes two. but on weekends it is as many as i can fit in :d i also get 3 day weekends every week.. so i go through atleast a keg a week, but i brew atleast once a week will be great once i have atleast 3 more kegs! with only 4 they dont get much time to mature

oh also, before home brew i was going through a tough time that called for alot of driking. and i was drinking atleast 1 bottle of jack daniels a night :s

Hey, I just started home brewing and have really just started chipping away at the beers. When I drank commercial beer, I would drink 1 carton a week and a 4 pack of Jack Daniels & Dry after work on Saturday night plus id slip in the odd beer here and there at the pub(rarely though)...

Once I get kegging, I will be drinking a little more though..

Bottle of Jack a night, I went through some very rough times to but never succumb to drinking a bottle of Jack a night, poor liver..

between me and the missus, we were going through 3x 30 packs of vb a week.thats why i've started brewing.got to love qld for a thirst.

3 or 4 longies a night after work and weekends I'm like Prawned, I drink as much as I can fit in I also used to go through a bottle of Johnnie every night but I was getting gut probs so had to stick to the beer. I don't drink more now I am brewing but I do save more money

An interesting topic, always disscusing this with mates. I know a bloke who drinks a 30pack of XXXX gold cans everynight and puts in a good days work everyday Most of them drink about a 30 pack of cans a week with the occasional bender. I used to be the same myself until I started to muck around with HB now it's much more. Don't think im drinking more to get soused more often, I think now i've developed more of an interest in beer(styles etc) and what I can produce how I can do it better.
Well thats my excuse anyway and Im sticking to it

I prolly drink about 1 pint a night on average. Definitely drink more now that I homebrew... which goes to show I've never been a particularly big drinker. I'm more into brewing than I am into drinking (much to my friends' and housemates' delight). Definitely more into premium beer and varied styles now than I was before; used to think Carlton was great.

I have always tried to keep it down to 4 drinks per night (sometimes less) and never starting before 5:00 with one day per week alcohol free.

This of course is now much easier that I am forced to drink goon!

Once in a while I will have a big day/night, but that happens only every couple months.

ok who has a good recipie for a good beer simular to cub's finest.

How much I drink is my business, and no one else's, not even mrs warra.
However, as a guide, I tend to average a 23 litre brew each 4 weeks.

Usually 6 stubbies a night here.. Which is against the wife's & the doctors orders but Pffft to them...

do a search for "VB" on here, see what you come up with; you'll quickly learn that there's next to nobody on here who considers it even drinkable, let alone CUB's finest (from a bad lot anyway )

22 IBU's of Pride of Ringwood (60mins)
500g Dextrose
W34/70 yeast

I dont think you could get very close with a can.

There are people who brew this style but we prefer to keep a low profile

Golly, that would be almost $1000.00 a month for Scotch, wouldn`t it?

I was on 4 Longies a night and then realised that was a bit much.......

Dropped to 3 Longies per night.....now I have kegs I find that I have not increased all that much. I expected to.

I knock over a 18-19 Litre keg in under 2 weeks, so ATM I am at about 4 Schooners per night with no Alcohol Free Days.

The best thing with the kegs is if I feel like one more, I do not have to crack a longie and can pour a middie if I want......nightcap if you like
