That's a Hybrid IPA/AIPA for sure.Smelt(spelling) ,Smelled amazing, I bet it did!Give the blow off tube a sniff for a belt of green apples and hop aroma. What temp have you got it at?16/18c works for me with this strain.Thats a put in bottles and age for some months type of brew.Put one aside for the sabsosa comp this year as an American IPA, and see if you don't get a spot in the top 3.

That's one mother of a hoppy beer, but it looks to have enough malt to balance it out. Should be very tasty.
The Nottingham yeast will be good, as I understand it is a fairly highly attenuating yeast.
Please be sure to give us a progress report down the road.

Age this beer? Not likely! This is a hoppy drink now kinda beer in my books.
Altho since it is 25L i will have a few bottles, got an IIPA that should be almost drinking by SABSOSA as well as a few bottles of my latest dry irish stout.
Its at 18C (roughly - thats going from the thermo stuck on the fermenter sitting next to it) under a sleeping bag going beserk! Krausen stopped just short of the lid. Never seen an airlock go so fast before.
Only 2nd time using nottingham, 1st attempt is a D Saaz pale ale which is on tap at the moment, thats a hoppy beast too! D Saaz is one powerful hop, leaves cascade/chinook/amarillo in its wake.

Brewer’s notes: If you want to say “hops†in your beer than this variety says it all. The pure weight of the oil character experienced during selection carries right through to the glass. A punchy addition to the new-world styles of Pale Ale and regional Pilseners. A cult hero that is established in the New Zealand craft beer culture.
sounds interesting

Hi Doc,
I happened across this (very) old thread. I'd be intrigued to know how this beer turned out.
Cheers,

It would definitely help, but you would still have to do a few things like designing your recipe, cracking grain, adding water and stirring the mash and sparging, boiling adding hops, chilling or no chilling, fermenting, bottling or keging and drinking it, but yeah I agree with you Speedie, it's a ripper of a program.

I think Speedie would only be happy if people used an abbacus for their calculations, instead of computers. Although, he does seem to be under the assumption that brewing calc programs actually make the beer for you. If anyone has come across a program that does this then let me know, I'm always looking for ways to get out of doing the heavy lifting!
