:( My first brew was very frothy and gassy. It also tasted like vinegar.I brewed a Mid strength in stubbies.
Can you explain why?

Sounds like you've picked up an infection. Review sanitisation procedures.

Take Gregs advice, dont let it put you off brewing though..

Sanitisitation is very important, everything has to be clean, even your hands..

i'd say you got pretty unlucky. i've done 26 brews, never had an infection. just a matter of being fairly clean.

now that you've had one, you'll want to sanitise your equipment very thoroughly, probably with a couple different sanitisers.

Also take any rubber rings/grommets off fermenter lid and take your tap apart. Make sure everything is well sanitized.

Thanks fellows.
I've just brewed a little creatures pale ale and fingers crossed is looking good.Bubbling away.I made sure that everything was sanitized this time.
I bought a heat band for the fermenter.Seems to be working.
Hopefully bottle on weekend.
Shall let you know.
