Did anyone else notice this letter to the editor in the Herald Sun in Melbourne this week?
Surely it must be some sort of joke
Cheers,
Oliver
Beer ad is a political ad
Monarchists normally view advertisements depicting members of the royal family with good humour.
However, a Coopers beer advertisements stating "Forget the monarchy, support the publicans", is we believe, tantamount to political advertising.
The subject advertisement could well have stated "Forget the republicans, support the publicans", but the company chose to attack the monarchy.

"Ale Appreciators" Don't think there'd be too many monarchists in that lot.

I've never seen this ad, must only have been on east coast screens.
I heard Coopers have decided to pull the campaign though, after the Monarchists kindly provided all the name dropping and publicity gold that money can't buy
