Muntons Gold Yeast
Hey guys and gals, I've used this yeast about 5 times now without any dramas, about 5 weeks ago I put down a batch using this yeast, fermented out well over 2 weeks, so obviously been bottled for 3 weeks(my maths is good yeah
). I cracked open a couple of bottles last night and they are flat as a tack, taste fine, actually very nice, but no carb. Bottles were capped properly and sugar was added to the bottles, and they are kept at room temp for conditioning, I even cracked open a bottle from the batch after it to make sure the temp wasn't too cold for it. The recipe I put down was very similar to this, http://www.homebrewandbeer.com/forum/vi ... =11&t=8456 , I have only ever used one pack of this yeast for a brew and never had probs, do you guys think this could be the cause of the lack of carb, and it's just taking twice as long as it should. I'm starting to think I may have to mix this beer with another batch to get a carbed drink

Thats it, you people have stood in my way long enough, I'm going to clown college

I'd just move them somewhere even warmer if possible, and rotating the bottles (end-over-end) once or twice a day for a week or two. The yeast is most likely being lazy.
A beer in the hand is worth two in George Bush...

I concur with Chris. There is probably alot of sleepy yeast or there aren't enough yeast cells in the bottle and they need help as suggested by Chris.
Sounds like Beer O'clock.

I can't rwally move them to a warmer spot but i'll give em a good up-ending a couple of times a day. I spose I could borrow the heat pad once the brew it's on is done. Cheers guysChris wrote:I'd just move them somewhere even warmer if possible, and rotating the bottles (end-over-end) once or twice a day for a week or two. The yeast is most likely being lazy.
