From a UK based brewing forum this morning:
Hogarth wrote: I see John Mortimer has pegged it at the age of 85. He'll be remembered as a novelist, playwright, raconteur ... but most importantly for coming up with the term She Who Must Be Obeyed to describe one's wife. I reckon that deserves a pint raised in his memory.
Admittedly Mortimer himself only drank champagne, being a socialist. But nobody's perfect.
Any excuse is a good excuse for me! I have one week of leave left so I'm catching up on all the beers I've missed while driving the tribe interstate so it'll do for now!!
Cheers,
TL

So what does SWMBO think of that?
homebrewandbeer.com does not endorse drink driving.

Struggling to understand the link between champagne drinking and being a socialist. Sounds rather bourgeois to me!
Still, sad passing of a great writer.
