Re: Spam pm

Hi guys,

This was indeed a spam message. I think that what happened was that the spam user created an account and sent a bunch of spam messages out.

I think the reason that in some cases the messages weren't there when you tried to find them is that in the meantime I'd deleted the user, and along with him or her (or it) the private messages were also deleted.

Hope this makes sense!

Cheers,

Oliver

If you get one, can you forward it to the administrator (Oliver), they are probably able to block the sender etc.

I didn't get any, but that's ok.

Yeah I received an email about having a PM here but when I logged onto the forum no such PM existed.

I guessed it was a spam of some sort that the forum filter had blocked or something.

Spam pm

Hi all

I received via my normal email account yesterday a pm emanating from this forum. Imagine my excitement at being contacted by a fellow devotee about some aspect of the noble art of homebrewing! However, I was pretty disappointed to find that the pm was nothing more than spam/a hoax, containing only a weblink (which I obviously didn't open). Is there anything that can be done about this? Has anyone else been subjected to this malicious attack?

Regards

Neil
