Re: Coffee at bottling

I know that this is probably the wrong Forum for it, but could you please put up a recipie?

A mate and I have been talking about a coffee-brew for a while now and I would obviously love to get the recipie for a previously successful batch.

Thanks

Boiling for dummies

Hi All,

Now for an extremely novice question. I have read pretty much everywhere about 'steeping' and 'boiling' etc, and that you add hops to the boil at different stages to achieve different things, ie 10-15 minutes for aroma etc (I get that); however, what I dont get is that what exactly do you ...

Re: READY TO DRINK?

I think that the wheat beer being ready quickly depends on the yeast rather than the addition of wheat. Did you use a wheat yeast like WB06 or a quality liquid yeast?

It was a Coopers kit can, and just the kit yeast. I know i should have probably grabbed a separate yeast from the HB store, but ...

I bottled a wheat beer on the weekend. How long should I wait before giving it a try? the standard 2 weeks?

Re: Very hot weather brewers

Hey all,

I am struggling with the weather in Sydney at the moment. I can't imagine what you guys in Vic & SA are going through... or your beer for that matter!

Being a newbie with only 3 brews under my belt (the third is in the fermenter, and is due for bottling this afternoon), I was curious if ...

Re: Common question: Cooper's kit yeasts

Hi all,

I recently bought a Coopers European Lager, however, with Cooper's tendancy to provide ale yeasts with their lagers, I was curious to know if the yeast with this particular can is actually a lager yeast (and therefore should be pitched at a lower temp) or an ale yeast?

Similarly, does ...

Wanted: Bottle Drying Tree & Sanitizer

Hi All,

I have a brew going at the moment and am planning to bottle on the weekend, however, I am after a bottle drying tree and sanitizer so I dont have to do it the long way. If anyone has either in the Sydney area, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,

Sam

Re: Beer erupts... what a bloody mess!

I have a Coopers Lager can with 1kg Dextrose & 500g LDME and just the kit yeast going at the moment (a very eclectic mix I know...). The yeast was pitched at 28C and is currently sitting at about 24C (about 6 days in). My wort bubbled out of the airlock constantly for about the first 2 days, and I ...

Re: Fermenting wheat beer

Hi Scott & All,

I am also wishing to do a wheat beer for my next batch, however, I am considering buying a lager yeast rather than the yeast supplied with the kit (this would be my 3rd batch ever). As such I have three questions:

1. would the experts in on this forum recommend using the lager ...

Redback Crystal

Hi All,

I am fairly new to the world of brewing, however, one of my favorite beers is Matilda Bay's Redback Crystal. I was curious to know if any of you have managed to brew a beer similar at home, and if so, if you'd be willing to share a recipe.

Thanks,

Sam

Homebrew Stores near the Inner West of Sydney

Hi All,

I am new to the world of homebrew, having just received a Coopers Kit for Chrissy. However, have absolutely no idea where my local homebrew store is. I live in Camperdown in Sydney, and I knew there used to be a store in Rozelle, however, this has shut down (as I am told). As such, it it is ...
