All grain? I assume you have temperature control? It will cost you a fair bit to be fermenting and lagering in this weather....
Prost and happy brewing!

All grain = no.
Was wanting an easy recipe, I remember drinking this in Prague a very nice drop,I thought maybe I could replicate it the plan would be to put it on when it on when the temp gets down abit.

Well, without temp control, you will not have much chance of making this beer.

You could have a crack at a K&K recipe, but this beer is so light and clean it will be quite hard to do.

You could try a Pilsner kit with some extra light liquid malt. Ferment at 12C or lower with an appropriate yeast.

Cheers may try a Pilsener Urquell recipe or something similar, I'll see if I can rig up my fridge to brew at lower temps or closer to 12c.

If I brew at about 20c will this dramatically alter the taste and flavour, at this temp is there a substitue yeast for this temp, ?

Any suggestions for a recipe someone has done similar to a Pilsner Urquell ?

You could use a steam beer yeast at 20C. This would give you a similar result.

As for a recipe, if you are not worried about colour you could use some Saaz in a boil with the light malt to get the IBUs up if necessary.

It really depends on what kit you are starting with, and how large of a boil you are able to do...

No need for a translator, its pretty easy and i dont speak a word of dutch.

15L
EBC 12
IBU 31
OG 1.050
Efficiency 60% (why so low?)

Malt
Pilsner - 3.5kg
Munich 1 - 0.3kg
Vienna - 0.35 kg

Hops
Saaz (CZ) 2.2 % 65 gram 90 min. 29 IBU
Saaz (CZ) 2.2 % 15 gram 10 min. 2 IBU

yeast - Wyeast 2000 (Budvar) - one of my fave lager yeasts

mash schedule - 63/73/78

Looks nice Goom, the recipe i use is 100% pilsner malt aiming for an IBU of 40 altho i am assuming that urquell and budvar have similar recipes......

I also fully understand it, was born in Holland, and still speak Dutch.

Dr Smurto is doing a great job of translating it. No need for my multilingual skills here.

Goede dag, en lekker een pilsje drinken.

Budvar is considerably less bitter than Pils Urquel. I am not sure the Munich or Vienna malts are right though.

I use munich and/or vienna in my german lagers but for a crisp czech pilsner i use 100% pilsner malt.

Hmmm, didn't realise budvar was lower in IBU than urquell.

Time for some side by side testing me thinks!

I love research 8)

Because of i am interested in quality and nog in the amount, I do not use lots of water to rinse (max 2 l)

I think that the original budvar and urquell have the same recipes
only the yeast is not similar

the first 15 liters are already drunk up here
because its now winter here (the temperature for yeasting have to be under 13 degrees) i am going to make some extra for the rest of the year
in november i can make it again

43 here today so we have the same issue but at the opposite ends of the thermometer!

Ok, i skimmed over some of the water volumes so i see you dont sparge much. Almost like collecting only the first runnings.

Ever thought of rinsing it with more water to collect the extra wort for use in yeast starters?

Thanks for the recipes Goom.

Cheers

Thanks for the recipe, not sure what EBC/IBU means?
Can anyone recommend a kit to try and replicate this recipe with ?

EBC is the colour
IBU is the bitterness.

Cant recommend a kit as i never made a lager when kit brewing.

Have a read thru this thread
