Malted or unmalted roasted barley

Postby Paley » Saturday Sep 17, 2022 10:02 pm

Hi all, been a long time out of the homebrew scene, but just retired and have a bit more time, so back into it. About to do a Coopers recipe (https://www.diybeer.com/au/recipe/mister-sinister.html )that I did a few years back and turned out very good. Went to my local HBS today for the roasted barley, they only had it in the malted variety, which they said was fine, then when I got home I found a bit of the roasted barley I used from the last batch, (probably too old to use), it was labelled unmalted, so my question is will this be fine to use as per the recipe instructions, or would I need to do something different?
