My 3rd AG, high efficiency

So i did a simple draught recipe and aimed for 70% efficiency..
4kg pilsner
400g carapils
200g of light crystal.
21g POR (60min)
Nottingham ale yeast @ 16c

So anyway went through my process and the syphon worked a treat this time, even had to slow it down once due to a compacted grain bed towards the end.

My target pre boil gravity was 1029 ended up being 1036... Thinking this might be dud reading i finished the boil and cooled the wort to 20c it read 1050... Woot so that went well. I then figured i must have boiled off a little to much...

I aimed for 23 ltrs got 22 @ 1050 in the fermenter, added 2 ltrs of water to get 1045 and pitched yeast.

Woot extra litre of beer, from my calcs in beer smith efficiency was 78%.

Can you get higher efficiency from pilsner grain vs pale ale?? Or did i just get my process down pat this time.
