Ya.... need one of them in Briz. It was tough going from Seattle to Brisbane.
In Seattle, even the megaswill taverns have at least 3 decent microbrews on tap.
Should I win Powerball, I'll buy the Union Jack and put some good beer on tap.

Taps looked something like this on Friday night:

Stone & Wood Ale
Coopers Vintage 2008
SC Summer Ale
Duke Pale Ale
Fat Yak Pale Ale
JS Golden Ale
JS Pilsner
JS Amber Ale

I think that's all of them but I wouldn't quote that as 100% accurate :p

It was a shame to see the Hop Thief and Alpha Ale go off tap but I did enjoy the Coopers 08, not so much the Duke though. Nothing really against the Duke, I just don't think it compares to everything else on the tap.

I preferred the Duke Pale over the Fat Yak even though they seemed similar.

I finally had my weekend in Brisbane the other day and managed to convince my whole group to join me at Platform.

Amazing.

I loved it! What a great venue it is! The staff were excellent and the selection of beers was brilliant. First time I've had Coopers Vintage on tap. The '08 tasted much nicer than the bottles of '07 and '06 I've had. Not sure if that is because it was on tap or because '08 is just a better beer.

Tried something from almost every tap, plus a bottle or two out of the fridge.

Very very happy with the experience. Wish we had something similar down near Newcastle!

Thanks guys for bringing the joint to my attention.

That Eagle Heights Stout is a bit of a heavy hitter at 11%.

Haven't been in there for a few days but I beleive the brewer from Matilda Bay is going to be providing samples of new beers for only $15 from 5.30pm today. I can't make it but it should be awesome

The Eagle Heights and Taffee's Bock are gone, replaced by Midnight Stout (another Brewhouse beer :) ) and Duke Pale Ale, not 100% sure on the Duke.

Word is they're getting a few kegs of Alpha Pale Ale in soon so we should so that on tap.

Was there Saturday afternoon and the list went back to being rather ordinary. The Midnight blew out so that is done. The SC Dunkel remained a strong pour. Others were the stalwart and tasty Stone & Wood, and they had the three usual James Squire brews along with Hoegaarden.

Well I have not been in to Platform for a while and was hoping for a good selection of taps.

Not great but Duke Pale Ale and Burleigh Hefe are the picks, still too much JS.

The do have Mac's Sassy Red in a bottle though.

Plus the bottlo next door has a grgood selection of Rogue, Meantime and some Lambics in now as well as 2007 Murrays Anniversary Ale.
