Wyeast London Ale

Post by lethaldog »

Just wondering how many of you have used this yeast as yesterday I made a 2 liter starter as I've done in the past but I haven't used liquids for a fair while and was wondering how long they generally take to kick off in the starter cos this ones now been about 27 hours and there is something happening but it's very tame, hoping it's ok ! Never used London ale before but I would think it would be well under way by now, date on the pack was late May 16 so it should be ok!
Cheers

I have used it about 12 months ago. My memory is vague but I think it was a little slow to get going for the first brew, direct pitch. Subsequent brews however took off in no time.
I don't think it has a large krausen so it can be deceiving.
