Some of you may have noticed that we've suddenly lost about 40 members

In case you care/were wondering, I deleted any user that had registered up until a month ago but had not activated their registration. This also means they did not have any posts.

It should have reduced the database size a bit, too, with any luck.

Cheers,

Oliver

Not posting is bad enough, but they hadn't even activated their registrations.

Fancy drinking, that's umbrellas and such isn't it?

Typing's hard enough without spilling beer let alone getting a plastic giraffe stuck up your nose.

Well, another 40 who had registered between the end of November and the end of February but hadn't activated their registration are now no longer.

And there go another 46 users.

Between the end of February and the end of March 34 people had registered but not activated their registration. The vast majority of these were "spam", or automatic registrations with a web address in their profile, designed to boost rankings on search engines.

Then I deleted a further 12 of these phantom registrations from the start of this month alone!

Nothing is ever easy.
